Suspended APPSC under-secretary found dead in Itanagar

Itanagar: In a shocking development, Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission(APPSC) Under Secretary Tumi Gangkak (42) was found dead at the tri-junction of Itanagar Zoological Park and Puma village near here on Friday.

Gangak, a native of West Siang district, was suspended from his job following the ongoing APPSC paper leak case and was reportedly summoned to his office by the CBI on Thursday.
Capital SP Jimmy Chiram told reporters that a case of unnatural death has been registered after investigation at the spot.

“The exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained. Medical reporters can throw light on the injury marks. More information can be revealed after the post-mortem,” he said.
Chiram said every aspect of the case would be probed: from the CBI summoning Gangak to his office.

He appealed to the relatives to file a complaint if the deceased had received any threatening calls before the incident.

Chiram said the police are also aware of a message doing the rounds on social media which was allegedly sent by the deceased in a family WhatsApp group.
The message read: “My dear honorable members, I was never involved in the APPSC paper leak. I am innocent but I am being targeted because I was the Assistant Controller of Examinations.
According to reports, the deceased was out of his house at 4 pm. Around 5.30 pm, his mobile phone switched off. His body was found around 1 pm. We will conduct an independent and fair investigation to find out the truth,” Chiram said.
