Special train from Silchar -Kolkata to continue for festival service

Guwahati: North East Frontier Railway has decided to continue the Silchar -Kolkata  on Silchar Festival Special train service for 26 more trips. The special train will continue its service from 19 January to 14 July 2023, with current timings, stoppages and composition. This additional service will help in de-congesting passengers.

Festival Special Train No. 05639 Silchar -Kolkata will depart from Silchar at 06:00 hrs on all Thursdays from 19 January to 13 July 2023 and reach Kolkata at 13:00 hrs the next day. In return direction, Festival Special Train no. 05640 (Kolkata – Silchar) will depart Kolkata at 15:00 hrs on all Fridays from 20 January to 13 July 2023 and arrive Silchar on Sundays at 00:30 hrs.
The continuation of this train will meet the demand of passengers waiting in the waiting list for other Kolkata-bound trains. People from Karimganj district, Dima Hasao district of Assam and areas like Lumding, Hojai, Guwahati, Goalpara and New Alipurduar will be able to travel comfortably with confirmed tickets.
Details of stoppages and timings of this train are available through IRCTC website and NTES and are also being notified on various newspapers and social media platforms of N.F. Railways. Passengers are requested to confirm the details before starting their journey.
