Guwahati: In a shocking turn of events, a key eyewitness in the death case of Assam Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Junmoni Rabha has reportedly come forward claiming that her car was at the scene of the accident was parked for a long time.
The latest reports now seem to have come out with a series of shocking allegations and have thrown more suspicions around the incident.
A person present at the scene during the incident said that the vehicle was already parked at the spot when a truck approached from the opposite direction and collided with it.
Narrating the incident, he said that he was traveling from Guwahati around 1:30 a.m. and decided to take a short halt before reaching Jakhalabandha in Nagaon district as he was sleepy.
“I saw an open shop nearby, so I parked my car and got out. Meanwhile, I saw a car parked in the area”, he added.
The “witness” then said that after freshening up and returning, he saw a truck approaching and “deliberately” hitting the front of the stationary car (Maruti Suzuki Espresso).
He added, “I distinctly remember seeing a young man in black pants and shoes get out of the car quickly before the truck driver also fled the scene. Sensing danger, I approached the vehicle. hesitated.
However, when officials from Jakhlabandha police station reached the spot, they approached the accident site cautiously.
A policeman, who according to him was a sub-inspector of the police station, directed him to leave and he complied.
“Later, when the vehicle was removed, I saw a lifeless body inside. The vehicle had been stationary for at least 15 minutes since I first saw it. The truck had deliberately hit it from the front, There is no doubt about it”, he added.
However, he did not say where the body was inside the vehicle.
Adding to the already muddled case, Junmoni Rabha’s mother has now accused top Nagaon police officials of “murdering” her daughter.
She believes that Junmoni Rabha may have uncovered a possible criminal conspiracy, silencing the authorities.
