Guwahati: Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh today arrived in Tezpur, Assam, ahead of his visit to Arunachal Pradesh, to celebrate Dussehra with the soldiers and perform Shastra Puja with them.
After his arrival, Raksha Mantri interacted with the troops during a Barakhana held at the 4 Corps headquarters in Tezpur.
Army Chief General Manoj Pandey; General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Eastern Command Lt. Gen. RP Kalita; GOC, 4 Corps Lt Gen Manish Erry and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
In his address, Mr. Rajnath Singh praised the concept of Barakhana, and said that it brings all ranks together to eat together as members of the same family.
“Being among you in this Barakhana shows that more than our status, we are a family and together we are defenders of our country,” he said.
Raksha Mantri described the Indian Army as a true example of brotherhood and solidarity as they work and live together in the same barracks and units despite belonging to different states, religions and backgrounds.
He appreciated the sacrifices of the armed forces and their families and their efforts to always ensure the safety of the motherland. He said that the nation will always be indebted to the brave soldiers.
Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh also highlighted that the bravery and determination of Indian soldiers is recognized all over the world.
He further said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s stature has risen internationally and a strong and brave army is the main reason behind this growth.
He expressed confidence that by 2027, India will be among the top three economies of the world.
