Imphal: The Manipur Shiv Sena on Thursday alleged that there will be no lasting peace in Manipur unless the government abrogates the SoO agreement reached between the Kuki militant groups with the central and state governments.
Speaking to the media at the party office in Imphal, Shiv Sena state president M Tombi demanded the Kuki militants to immediately stop their attacks on the citizens of Meitei and set fire to the houses of Meitei, resulting in In Manipur many Meiteis have migrated. Tombi also stressed the urgent need for action against the Kuki militants who are allegedly targeting the local Meitei population in Manipur. He further appealed to the central government to facilitate the return of SoO militants to their native places.
Tombi also emphasized the importance of government support in efforts to restore normalcy in the state.
To restore peace and harmony in Manipur, the President also announced his decision to submit a memorandum to the President of India, the Prime Minister, and other officials of the Central Government.
