Shaky youth in Bongaigaon detained by Police for joining ULFA(I)
Assam: Social media seems to have made it easy to mislead the youth. A Bongaigaon youth has been arrested by the Assam Police for allegedly trying to join the banned militant outfit United Liberation Front of Assam (Independent), popularly known as ULFA(I).
The arrested person, identified as Momen Nath, who hails from North Boitamari, shared a video message through social media on June 24, expressing his affiliation with the militant group.
According to sources, Nath had a domestic problem with his wife and he concocted this story of leaving home to join the extremist group.
Currently, the police are interrogating Momen Nath at Bongaigaon police station.
Sources further said that Nath is a known criminal and was earlier arrested by the Bongaigaon police authorities.
