Imphal: Two bunkers were destroyed in a joint special operation by central and state security forces in southern parts of Manipur on Sunday.
These bunkers, allegedly occupied by armed Kuki militants/miscreants, were destroyed in Phunchunjang and Maulsang villages of Chaurachandpur district of Manipur.
However, no arrests have been made so far.
The operations were launched after Manipur Security Adviser Kuldiep Singh announced to intensify operations against the militants who attacked the Indian Reserve Battalion camp on Saturday.
Two CRPF personnel were killed and two others injured in the attacks in Naransena village under Moirang police station in Manipur’s Bishnupur district.
“I have directed all security forces, including the Assam Rifles and the Army, to intensify operations. We are making strategies for day-to-day operations,” Singh told reporters.
Furthermore, no organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.
