Kohima: In a major operation, the Indian Army’s Eastern Command Intelligence Battalion (ECIB) and the Special Operations Team of Mon Police have arrested a hard-line NSCN (K-YA) freedom fighter, self-styled Lt. Jyachuk Wangsu alias Abo.
A secret hideout in Nagaland’s Mon district.
Wangsu, son of Mannyem Wangsu, hailing from Chanu village in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, had recently switched from NSCN(U) to NSCN(K-YA).
He was previously arrested in 2021 by the Longding police and security forces for possession of weapons.
Sources revealed that Wangsu, along with other K-YA freedom fighters, was constantly demanding extortion under the instructions of senior NSCN (K-YA) leaders – self-styled Brig. Pyong Konyak, self-styled Colonel Butai Wangsu and self-styled Captain Panchen Wangsu.
