Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday met Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan, apprised him of the current situation in the state and discussed various initiatives taken in the state.
During the meeting, Biren Singh informed the Governor about the relief and rehabilitation works for the affected population of the state.
The Governor and the Chief Minister also discussed issues related to vehicular movement on national highways and deployment of security forces in vulnerable areas. The Governor advised the Chief Minister to do what is needed to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
The Governor also called on former CRPF DG Kuldiep Singh, who has recently been appointed as Security Advisor to the Manipur Government, and Ashutosh Sinha, ADGP, at the Raj Bhavan.
Kuldiep Singh apprised the Governor about the opening of national highways and deployment of security in vulnerable areas like foothills and border areas of the two communities. He also apprised the Governor about the proposed plan to provide internet connectivity in some areas to facilitate government functions.
It should be noted that amid the current law and order situation in Manipur, the state government has extended the internet ban till May 21.
