Silchar: In a notification, the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) has re-examined 760 students of the Center at JR Higher Secondary School, Gunirgram, Cachar after reports of massive cheating surfaced last week ordered.
On Friday, several videos went viral on social media showing people crossing school boundaries to distribute cheating materials to candidates appearing for the exam.
An order issued by the SEBA on Monday said that during the English subject examination on March 3, a section of candidates of center number B23-0138, JR Higher Secondary School, Ganirgram in Cachar district, test timings. I have been reported using unfair methods.
The holiness of examination was violated in this examination center due to such malpractice adopted in the center all 760 students of that particular center had to re-appear for English subject, compartmental examination to be held in 2023. I. at the right time. Answer scripts of students of JR Higher Secondary School Gunirgram of English subject held on March 3, 2023 will not be examined.
The decision came after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took cognizance of the incident and directed the state education board to take action against exam centers where paper leaks are taking place.
After analyzing the viral videos, the Cachar police had arrested the first five people in this regard.
Meanwhile, on the second day of the exam, the question paper of Mathematics subject in Cachar district was allegedly leaked. The incident took place in a center in Daloogram.
However, sources said it was a case of cheating and not a “leak” as the paper was circulated after the examination began.
Soon after the report, Cachar DC Rohan Kumar Jha and Cachar SP Namal Mahatta reached the examination centre. After that, several cheaters and mobile phones were seized.
