
Tripura: NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma ready to ally with TIPRA Motha but without 'Greater Tipraland'
Assam Chief Minister and NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed a large gathering ahead of the upcoming Tripura state elections in Krishnapur assembly constituency of Khowai district on February 3.
At the public gathering, NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma appealed to the people of Tripura not to waste their votes for TIPRA Motha as the party will not be able to form the government in the electoral state.
Assam Chief Minister and NEDA convenor while talking to the media said, “What is Tipraland… You have to divide Tripura to get Tipraland.”
NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that the Tipra Motha chief is in talks with the saffron party and the BJP has also approached the Motha chief.
With several meetings held earlier in Guwahati, the BJP offered Tipra Motha a complete package for the development, language and economy of the tribal people.
CM Sarma said, “BJP is ready for any kind of change but don’t ask for division of Tripura”.
The NEDA convener also asserted that TIPRA Motha chief Pradyut Bikram Mankeya Deb was the Burma family that built Tripura and no one else can divide Tripura.
The convenor of NEDA said that the division of Tripura is not acceptable to the BJP.
Hamanta Biswa Sarma also commented that the saffron party will sit in the opposition but will not allow Tripura to be divided but if Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma thinks that tribal people should get power, distribution and land rights.
