Ruthless killing of Opeiham Konyak condemned by NSCN-IM

Kohima: The killing of NSCN-IM leader Khampei Opeiham Konyak in Nagaland by unidentified assailants, has sparked condemnation and outrage. The NSCN-IM, on Friday strongly denounced the heinous act, emphasising the imperative need for unity and condemnation from all quarters.

The NSCN-IM reiterated its stance against senseless violence within the Naga community, especially at a time when efforts should be concentrated on attaining enduring peace and fostering reconciliation.

Such a reprehensible act stands in stark contrast to the principles upheld by the Nagas amidst the ongoing peace process, it said.

Konyak was at his residence in Namsa, Tizit, near Assam border when a group of six unidentified miscreants forcefully entered his home and picked him.
