
Ruling on Dr Sarita Toshniwal murder case postponed to 17 May
Assam: The court of Dibrugarh District and Sessions Judge has adjourned the date of judgment in Dr Sarita Toshniwal’s sensational rape and murder case till May 17.
According to sources, since one accused Kiru Mech was absent in court today, the court has fixed May 17, 2023 as the next date for judgment.
According to information, Kiru Mech is absent from the court due to ill health.
Dr. Sarita was brutally murdered inside the Assam Medical College Hospital while on duty allegedly by Dr. Deepamoni Saikia and ward boy Kiru Mech.
According to reports, Sarita was found dead in the intensive care unit doctor’s cabin.
His body was covered with a blanket and lying on a bed inside the cabin.
On the day of the murder, the Dibrugarh police arrested Kiru Mech, a ward boy of the department after he allegedly confessed to the crime.
Mech belongs to Siringhola village of Dibrugarh district.
Mech also allegedly confessed that Deepamoni had asked him to kill Sarita on the night of April 24 when she was on night duty but he could not carry out the murder.
