Rs. worth 10 lac Heroin grabbed and 4 detained in Mizoram

Aizawl: At least four persons were arrested for possession of heroin worth over Rs 10 lac at separate locations in Aizawl on Sunday, an official of the state Excise and Narcotics Department said on Monday.

He said that officials of the Excise and Narcotics Department on Sunday recovered 503 grams of heroin worth more than 9.75 lac rupees from the possession of three persons in Bawngkawn area.
In another seizure, Excise officials and Young Mizo Association (YMA) volunteers also seized 11 grams of the banned substance during a joint operation in the Falkland region of Aiza on the same day, he said.
He said that a drug dealer was arrested for possessing a banned band worth around Rs 25,000 in the local market.
He said that a case was registered against the four accused under the relevant provisions of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The excise department had seized 3.5 kg of heroin in January.
