Revolutionary PrePak urges mass to pray on Martyrs day,no revelry

Imphal: Ahead of ‘Martyrs’ Day’, which is observed on Sunday, (November 12, 2023), the revolutionary People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has appealed to the common people in Manipur to refrain from festivities on the day.
A PREPAK statement issued by the Publicity and Propaganda in-charge of Affairs Leibak Ngaakpa Luwang said the organization has been celebrating Martyrs’ Day or ‘Athouba Singgi Ningsing Numit’ every year since 1979 on November 12, in honor of those revolutionaries who died on this day. Make sacrifices during the path of revolutionary movement.
PREPAK, which came into existence on 9 October 1977, is an armed revolutionary group from Manipur demanding a separate and independent homeland. Manipur joined the Indian Union in 1949.
As in previous years, on this special occasion which falls on November 12, the organization announced the highest honor to all revolutionaries and asked people to light candles at every residential door in the evening and pray for the souls of the martyrs.
