Guwahati: spike in Covid cases are on the rise in the Northeast and authorities in most of these states are yet to take any serious precautionary measures.
After a gap of several weeks, four new deaths – one each from Assam, Manipur, Nagaland and Tripura – were reported.
The Tripura government has once again made wearing a mask mandatory and anyone who does not wear a mask will be fined Rs 200.
The Manipur government, which had earlier extended the summer vacation till July 24, has again extended it till August 7 for all schools, including government, government-aided and private.
