On June 19, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet said that a senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer has been made the head of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
Sinha will succeed Samant Kumar Goel, who will complete his four-year term on June 30.
The Appointments Committee has approved the appointment of Sinha as Secretary, RA for a period of two years.
Sinha is a 1988 batch IPS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre and is currently serving as Special Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.
According to reports, Sinha has been associated with the intelligence agency for two decades and was the head of RAW’s operational wing before his promotion.
He has worked extensively in Jammu and Kashmir, North East and other countries.
