
DIBRUGARH: Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday visited the military station at Dinjan in Assam’s Dibrugarh district.
Rajnath Singh is on a two-day visit to the forward areas of East Arunachal Pradesh from September 28 to 29.
Rajnath Singh was accompanied by Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande and Chief of Eastern Army Lt Gen RP Kalita and other senior officers.
The Union Defense Minister was briefed on infrastructure development along the China border in Arunachal Pradesh.
They were also briefed on capability development and operational readiness in forward areas.
Thereafter, the defence Minister reviewed the operational preparations of the formation in the easternmost part of the country.
During the visit, Union Defense Minister was also briefed on deployment of latest military equipment and technology to enhance operational efficiency of frontlines troops.
On Thursday (September 29), Rajnath Singh will visit the forward posts of the Indian Army in Arunachal Pradesh to review the operational readiness of the troops and interact with them.
He will also speak with members of other religious expeditions to Athu Popo, an annual trek by the indigenous Idu Mishmi tribe, which the Indian Army is planning from 2021 to support the Indian Army’s outreach and efforts to support local people and promote tourism.
