According to the IMD, traffic jams are more likely to occur as heavy rains may reduce visibility. There is also a possibility of water accumulation in low lying areas and river banks.
He asked the people to refrain from going to the flood-hit areas and not to stay in the flood-prone areas.
However, no red, orange or yellow alert has been issued by the department so far.
In Assam, 62 people have been killed in floods till June 19, compared to 28 in Meghalaya.
