Rahul Gandhi questions PM Modi’s, Is Manipur not part of India?
Guwahati: As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Naya Yatra arrived in Meghalaya on Monday, he said the “pilgrimage” was started from Manipur to bring the attention of the entire country.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed deep concern over the impact of divisive politics being spread by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the region.
Gandhi said the tragic consequences of the politics of “hatred and violence” had led to numerous deaths and massive damage to property in Manipur.
He said that the pain felt by the people of Manipur was the result of the ideology attributed to RSS and BJP.
Gandhi also questioned the absence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Manipur.
He raised the question, “Isn’t Manipur an Indian state?” Are the people of Manipur not a part of India?
Accusing the prime minister of disinterest in resolving the violence in Manipur, Gandhi asserted that the situation could be brought under control within three days if the Prime Minister was determined to end the unrest.
