Pushp Paul Singh a veteran journalist passes away in Guwahati

Guwahati: Senior journalist Pushap Pal Singh passed away in Guwahati on Monday morning. According to reports, the 72-year-old died of a heart attack around 1 am on Monday.

In an illustrious journalistic career spanning nearly three decades, Singh worked for the Times of India, the Economic Times and the BBC. The news website he launched from the region was earlier known as North East News Portal.
In a tweet, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed grief over the demise of the renowned journalist.
Law Minister Kiren Rijiju also condoled PP Singh’s death, tweeting that “his integrity and passion in reporting was exemplary.”

In another tweet by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the deceased senior journalist was hailed as “a clear voice for the people”.
