Punjab has announced Rs 10 million for the families of soldiers killed in Arunachal Pradesh.
Chandigarh/Hoshiarpur: The Punjab government on Sunday declared an extra measure of Rs 1 crore and an administration work for a relative of Subedar Hardeep Singh who kicked the bucket while on the job with LAC in Arunachal Pradesh.
Subedar Singh made the biggest sacrifice last Friday.
The body of Subedar Singh of 15th Punjab Regiment was laid to rest with full military honors at his native village Brenda in Hoshiarpur district.
He is made due by his better half, a little girl and a child.
His last rituals were performed by his child Varinderpal Singh.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said in a statement that Subedar Hardeep Singh had shown utmost dedication to defend the unity of the country and his sacrifice would encourage his fellow soldiers to perform their duties with much more dedication and determination.
In Hoshiarpur, Punjab Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa, Armor Set MLA Jasbir Singh Raja and Dasuya MLA Karamvir Singh Ghuman, military, civil, police officials and other dignitaries paid homage to the late.
