PREPAK (Pro) paid revolutionary tribute on its 48th Raising Day

Imphal: The liberation armed group, the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) [PREPAK (Pro)], observed the 48th Raising Day of its Red Army across Manipur and abroad.

In a statement released in connection with the day, the group’s Chairman, Longjam Paliba M, reportedly paid a revolutionary tribute to those who had sacrificed their lives defending the state during the ongoing conflict.

He expressed solidarity with families affected by injuries, harm, or missing loved ones due to the crisis, and extended his gratitude to volunteers and women defending the region during these difficult times.
In his statement, Paliba attributed historical blame to colonial powers, particularly the British, for playing the ‘Great Game’ to dominate Asian nations, a strategy which he claimed was later adopted by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, in his “Forward Policy” aimed at expanding India’s territory.

According to Paliba, the current ruling party, BJP, is pursuing the ‘Akhand Bharat’ or Greater India objective, which he alleged is implicitly reflected in Article 2 of the Indian Constitution.

He further claimed that India is striving to establish a hegemonic presence in Asia, and that this agenda prioritizes the fragmentation of the Meitei people to be replaced by groups like the “narcotized Kuki conglomerate,” which he accused India of openly supporting through political, military, and financial means.
Paliba reportedly compared India’s alleged regional interference to an “eight-armed octopus,” claiming that the country meddles in the internal affairs of neighboring nations, including Afghanistan, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Despite Meitei’s significant contribution to India’s fight against British colonialism, Paliba alleged that India has continued to humiliate and weaken the Meitei community as part of its expansionist policies.
He asserted that Indian leaders are deliberately working to enervate the Meitei people and emphasized that India has never truly supported the region since its incorporation into the country.

According to Paliba, the ongoing crisis has forced the Meitei to prepare for a major battle as the only means of resistance. He claimed that Meitei people were driven out of their ancestral homes without provocation or conflict with the Kuki community, and urged his people to fight back to reclaim their lands.

The armed group leader also stressed the need for unity among the Meitei, avoiding internal conflicts, and prioritizing the acquisition of war materials to adapt to the conflict. He called on his fellow Kangleicha to approach the ongoing struggle with the same courage displayed by their forefathers, as the current crisis has become a critical part of their liberation movement.
