Pre Christmas festivity hosted by GPRN/NSCN (Mathung/Kitovi)

Kohima: The GPRN/NSCN (Mathung/Kitovi) hosted a pre-Christmas celebration at 5th Mile, Chumukedima. The event was chaired by Apong, Assistant Chaplain, and documented by Khehuto Zhimomi, Home Secretary. The program commenced with an invocation delivered by Atoshe Yeptho, Kilonser.

The welcome address was given by Hukavi Yepthomi, Kilo Kilonser. In his remarks, Yepthomi emphasized the unwavering grace of God that has blessed the government’s progress thus far.

A series of musical presentations, performed by various families and individual artists, captivated the audience.

The exhortation was delivered by Ato Kilonser Kitovi N. Zhimomi, who underscored the significance of embracing themes such as tolerance, forgiveness, generosity, and goodwill among the Naga people, deeply rooted in a genuine Christian ethos.

He noted that while Christmas celebrations have evolved into social gatherings, new converts from Hinduism and Islam are increasingly leading Christian worship in churches and community gatherings, creating confusion between cultural and religious practices.

Kuwoto Yesca, Joint Secretary of Keeya Affairs, began the event by delivering a reading of scripture, setting a reflective tone for the proceedings. This was followed by a message from Nochotole Yosa, Chaplain. Yosa elaborated on the profound significance of the Spirit of Giving, emphasizing that this principle lies at the heart of a meaningful Christmas celebration.

She urged the audience to practice selflessness in their contributions to others, starting with their immediate neighbors, fostering a community built on mutual support and compassion. The program concluded with a Mass Benediction, followed by Christmas Cake Cutting and a Christmas Feast.
