Assam: Guwahati’s Pratiksharani Borgohain was named Bihu Samragi 2023 while; Banani Gogoi of Moran and Ananya Phukan of Lakhimpur won the title of Bihu Rani and Bihu Konwari respectively in the 72nd Guwahati Bihu Sanmilani this year.
As many as seven competitors participated in the recently held Bihu event from April 16.
On the other hand, Dulumoni Bora won the title of ‘Shrestha Dhuliya’ (Best Drummer) and Debajit Tamuli won the title of ‘Shrestha Pepa Badok’ (Best Hornpipe Instrumentalist).
Like the previous years, this year also this Bihu Sanmilani is being organized at the Latasal Playground in Guwahati.
Starting from April 14, Latasil Bihu Sanmilani was held for four days.
On the very first day of the grand Bihu event, the Bihu Rani/Bihu Konwori competition was held, while the Bihu Samragi concluded on 17 April.
It should be noted that Guwahati Bihu Sanmilani located in Latasil is the oldest bihu place in Assam.
It has been conducting Bihu programs since 1952.
