Pranay Verma appointed India’s new envoy to Bangladesh
Verma will succeed occupant Vikram Doraiswami, who is set to expect charge as Indian High Magistrate to the UK
New Delhi: Senior diplomat Pranay Verma was on Friday appointed India’s new high commissioner to Bangladesh, considered an important posting in view of an all-encompassing strategic partnership between the two countries.
Verma, a 1994-batch Indian Foreign Service officer who is presently serving as India’s envoy to Vietnam, will succeed incumbent Vikram Doraiswami.
“He is supposed to take up the task in no time,” the Service of Outer Undertakings (MEA) said.
Doraiswami is set to accept charge as Indian High Chief to the UK.
Indian High Magistrate to the UK Gaitri Issar Kumar resigned from administration on June 30.
Sandeep Arya, by and by filling in as extra secretary in the MEA, has been named as the following Minister of India to Vietnam.
