Agartala: Polling for the 60-member Tripura Legislative Assembly is underway in all assembly constituencies of the state.

Polling began at 7 am on Thursday (February 16).

The voting process will end at 4 PM.

Tripura has a total of 3337 polling stations, of which 1100 have been identified as sensitive and 28 as critical.
More than 25,000 Central Armed Forces personnel have been deployed in Tripura to ensure violence-free and fair elections.

Moreover, 31,000 Tripura police personnel are also deployed to ensure law and order during polling hours.
A total of 28.13 lakh voters in Tripura, including 13.53 lakh women, will decide the fate of 259 candidates, of whom 20 are women.

BJP is contesting on 55 seats while its ally IPFT has fielded candidates on six seats in Tripura.

CPIM is contesting on 47 seats while its ally Congress is contesting on 13 seats.
On the other hand, Tepra has fielded candidates on 42 seats.

Meanwhile, TMC has fielded candidates in 28 constituencies while 58 are independent candidates.

The ruling BJP has fielded the highest number of candidates with 12 women.
