PMAY-G houses 500,000 people in Assam: CM
Jorhat: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Gari Raj Singh on Thursday presented letters of approval to 12 beneficiaries as part of providing houses to 500,000 people.
Talking on the event, Sarma said that the most common way of giving 500,000 houses to the recipients under PM Awas Yojna-Grameen (PMAY-G) had begun from Jorhat and would be recreated across the state.
He expressed that beginning around 2014, the Center has endorsed 1.9 million houses for Assam with monetary use of Rs. 27,000 crore.
