Imphal: There are plans to start international flights from Imphal in Manipur to Mandalay in Myanmar and Bangkok in Thailand soon.
Manipur Chief Minister Baran Singh gave this information.
These two international flights from Imphal in Manipur will be launched under the UDAAN scheme.
The Chief Minister of Manipur further said that Imphal International Airport is the third busiest airport in the Northeast.
“Work is on to develop the Imphal airport by introducing a new integrated terminal and a cargo terminal,” said Manipur Chief Minister Bairan Singh.

He added: “These new terminals will strengthen the air connectivity infrastructure in Manipur.”
The Manipur chief minister added that the Northeast region connects India to “the most economically dynamic and politically important geography in the world”.
“As the gateway to South-East Asia, Manipur will play an important role in implementing the Act East Policy,” said CM Brain Singh.
