Manipur: On June 5 at around 1645 hours miscreants set fire to a passenger vehicle near Serou Bridge killing four people.

In a similar incident on June 5, a crowd was attacked in Iroisemba under Lamsang police station, resulting in the death of three people.

According to reports, an ambulance and a Maruti Gypsy with three people on board, which was going from Phayeng to Imphal West, were stopped by a large crowd.

According to sources, a minor, said to be around 8 years old, was among the three victims who were burnt alive.
The mob then set fire to the ambulance. The horrific incident took place on June 4 around 6:30 pm.

Adding to the chaos, earlier in the early hours of June 4, miscreants set fire to two villages in the Sugnu area of ​​Kakching district, including the residence of Indian National Congress MLA Ranjeet. included.
Sources revealed that the MLA’s house was partially burnt down in the incident which further spread tension and unrest in the area.
Earlier, on June 3, at around 4:30 PM, four MLAs from Manipur, including three from the ruling BJP, were allegedly detained by angry locals at the Sugnu Bazar Mahila Congress building.
Among the detained MLAs is Ranjit, the only non-BJP MLA in the group. They were led by Minister Y Kemchand, who sought permission to meet Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and discuss the transfer of the camp of the Assam Rifles from Sugnu.
