Over the arrest of tribal, KSO warns filing FIR against Assam Rifles
Imphal: Alleging the arrest of Lamtinsei alias Seipu Singson – an organized drama to tarnish the image of the Kuki community, the Kuki Students’ Organization General Headquarters threatened to lodge an FIR against the concerned company commander of the Assam Rifles.
A statement by the students’ organization said that Lamtinsei alias Seipu Singson (50), son of Letkhosei of Chiengkonpang, Churachandpur, was shot by 39 Assam Rifles posted at Tactical Headquarters Kadamtal Company, Jiribam on October 14 with a cup of tea and later picked up by AR with his bolero car.
It said that before impounding his vehicle, local women scanned the vehicle, only to find his personal diary, a Christian Bible and bottles of water.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Seipu, who was summoned for the tea cup discussion, later handed over 10 capsules of brown sugar to the police, accusing him of being involved in the illegal drug trade, it said.
It further states that the false arrest of Seipu has been staged – an organized drama to tarnish his image in general and the Kuki community in particular, simply by accusing him of malice, and No one should be punished for a crime he did not commit. Commitment
“An innocent Seipu Singson has been wrongly accused of a crime he did not commit,” the student body said.
It also said that the involvement of the Assam Rifles in accusing an innocent person of this crime is highly condemnable.
AR seems to have worked to please the majority Matti by falsely implicating an innocent cookie to save his bad reputation.
It said that the Company Commander of the said AR Post should stop acting on the behest of the State Government and Meitei CSOs to fulfill their baseless claims of labeling the people of Kuki-Zo as narco-terrorists.
The student organization also said that the commander of 39 ARC and the Superintendent of Police of Jiribam Police should conduct a strict investigation against the commander of the Kadmatal company for how drugs were used against an innocent person to make false allegations.
It also said that a case should be registered against the commander of the said company under the relevant NDPS Act, failing which the KSO-GHQ would be forced to register a case, hence the Human Rights Commission.
