Over postal jobs to non-Arunachali bidder 10 groups to hold protest

Itanagar: Frustrated by the postal department’s alleged appointment of non-Arunachal candidates against vacant posts, a group of 10 organizations have decided to hold a protest rally here on September 12.
The organizations have demanded immediate cancellation of ongoing appointment of non-Arunachal candidates against 2,596 posts in 866 post office branches across the state, and introduction of local bids in post office recruitment rules, among others.
These organizations include Save Arunachal Save Indigenous (SASI), Save Arunachal Youth Association (SAYA), Indigenous Movement Against Corruption and Reformation (IMAC&R) and Arunachal Nari Shakti (ANS).
“The unemployed youth of our state are facing discrimination and injustice in the recruitment process for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts,” alleged Raj Pao, who is leading the protest.
“Thousands of candidates from Arunachal Pradesh can get jobs if the postal department maintains the rules,” SAYA president Likhr Rajnik said.
