Guwahati: Northeast India is expected to witness very heavy to heavy rain activity with thundershowers and lighting from Monday to Wednesday.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for Assam and Meghalaya for locally heavy rains.
Other northeastern states, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura can also expect heavy rain on Monday and Tuesday. Yellow alert has been issued by IMD for these states.
According to the forecast, the weather conditions in the northeastern states are likely to remain humid for the rest of the week and no significant rise in temperature is predicted till the end of the week.
The maximum temperature in Assam’s Guwahati is likely to hover around 26-29°C till the end of the week, says the IMD forecast.
