Itanagar: The Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF) has expressed grave concern over the continuing reports of violence in Manipur, where Christians are allegedly being targeted.
In a press statement, the Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF) said, “The rift between the two communities which apparently started over a disagreement over granting ST status to one of them, has been given a religious colour.”
“It is no longer an ethnic conflict as shown by the targets of arson, looting and brutal killings. If it is only an ethnic conflict, then why would Hindus destroy churches belonging to Christians,” he said. ACF questioned.
The ACF alleged that “the looting of a large number of deadly weapons from the government armory is clearly done with the connivance of the ruling party, which is orchestrating this disaster with the miscreants”.
Condemning the central government’s failure to fulfill its grand ‘raj dharma’ in Manipur, the ACF appealed to the Arunachal Pradesh government to make all possible efforts to restore peace in Manipur. So use your good offices.
