Over heated arguments, Mechanic shot dead by co-worker

Imphal: A 43-year-old mechanical supervisor from Bihar was shot dead by his co-worker in Manipur’s Bishnupur district on Sunday night, police said.
The victim, identified as Suresh Sahu, allegedly got into an argument with a 54-year-old co-worker, Shijagurumayum Biren Sharma, over wages.
The two men were reportedly drinking after work at Loktak Project Awang Bazar.
According to the police, Sharma demanded an increase from Rs 400 to Rs 700 per day. Sahu, who lived in Shantipur village with his wife Nongmaithem Naocha Devi, reportedly refused the request. Even after they returned home, the quarrel continued.
Sharma recovered a double-barreled gun from his residence and shot Sahu at the gate of his house in Shantipur village around 8:30 pm on Sunday, police said. After the incident, Biren fled from the spot.
Sahu was being taken to Bishnupur district hospital with non-responsive injuries.
The weapon has been recovered, and police are looking for Sharma.
