Over fake documents 700 Indian Students deported from Canada

Ottawa: Around 700 Indian-origin students face the possibility of deportation after authorities found discrepancies in their ‘admission offer letters’ to the country’s educational institutions. These students have been handed deportation letters by the Canadian Border Security Agency.
According to reports, these students had applied for study visas through Education Migration Services headed by Brijesh Mishra in Jalandhar. Apparently, he charged more than Rs 16 lakh per student for all expenses including admission fees to Humber College. However, this amount did not include tickets and necessary security deposits.
These students went to Canada to study in the 2018-19 session. The fraud came to light when these students applied for permanent residency in Canada. When the admission offer letters were scrutinized, the CBSA discovered the problem and that the visas were allotted on the basis of forged documents.
Reports indicate that most of these students have completed their studies. Some even obtained work permits and work experience with documents. The problem came when they applied for residency. The fraud is being described as the first of its kind and the result of a large number of applicants for education in Canada.
After this incident, many frauds have come to light. These included sending offer letters to colleges to provide fake fee payment receipts to students to obtain visas. These operations are usually carried out by fraudulent agents in India who work with private colleges based in Canada and take advantage of the rush of Indian students to shift to Canada.
One of the fraud victims said that he was initially allotted a visa based on an offer letter from a private college. And the change was made when she reached the country and the agent offered her admission to a different government college.
