Over external interference among Nagas, NSCN (Niki) cautioned

Kohima: The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has discussed with the top Naga Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Nagaland about the mechanisms and arrangements to be worked out among the Nagas prior to the involvement of the central government on the border. Expressed his disappointment at not being there. Naga area issue.
The NSCN (Niki) through its MIP recognized that the concerns of the Eastern Nagas should have been addressed better and more collaboratively with the so-called developed tribes.
It acknowledged that the areas represented by the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) have legitimate grievances regarding the equality of economic development.

The group emphasized the importance of Naga people being aware of the political situation and turmoil around them.
They stressed the need for the Nagas to take care of their political aspirations to avoid confusion and ambiguity similar to what is happening in the neighboring regions.
Pointing to Manipur as an example, the NSCN (Niki) MIP alleged that the opposition deliberately fueled chaos through the long-standing policy of divide and rule.

According to the statement, factionalism has always been beneficial to the opposition as it enables them to divide the Naga population into manageable factions.
The MIP accused the opposition ruling parties of directly or indirectly encouraging the group to consolidate their control over Naga lands.

It also expressed concern that the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) has been bypassed, undermining the existing provisions of Article 371(A) of the Constitution of India.
The statement emphasized the need for the Naga people to remain united, highlighting the situation in Manipur where conflicts between the Kuki and Methi communities have led to division.

The NSCN (Niki) said that any political arrangement imposed in the Naga lands would not create division within the Naga society nor hinder their political aims.
The group asserted that the Naga people themselves are the only hope to achieve their political aspirations, stressing that neither the central government nor any other body can fulfill these aspirations.
