Kohima: The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) has issued a statement over ongoing issues with K Rulho, proprietor of KKB. A press release from the National Security Council (NSC) of the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) said that despite the organisation’s “considerable patience over the past two years,” KKB has “only contributed 5 lakh to five projects,” after which all communication ceased.
Numerous attempts to resolve the matter have been met with resistance, it claimed,
It further claimed that the contractor not only questioned the “integrity of the NSCN/GPRN (K)” but also “provocatively challenged the government” to take any action it deemed necessary against his non-cooperation.
Such provocations, it asserted, could lead to severe consequences, including “capital punishment under NSCN Yezhabo.”
It emphasised, “No individual, regardless of their position, has the right to make such inflammatory statements against NSCN/GPRN.”
Further, the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) said that the actions of Rulho appear to be supported by the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) “without any substantive understanding or assertion of the facts regarding the relationship between NSCN/GPRN and the contractor.”
To this end, it asked the AYO to “refrain from interfering in its affairs.”
“The government (NSCN/GPRN) has already cautioned Rulho against his individual provocations and stands by its statements regarding this matter,” it added.
The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) directed that “any individual challenging the integrity of the government, or attempting to take the law into their own hands against the government, will face appropriate actions as deemed fit under YEZHABO.”
It acknowledged the resolution of non-cooperation from AYO but questioned the basis the latter could interfere in “governmental affairs.”
It asked: “Under what authority does AYO assume the right to challenge the government, particularly based on the provocations of a single individual, such as Rulho?”
The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) also questioned the AYO concerning claims of possessing automatic weapons. “Are these weapons meant for protecting Naga rights against the alien oppressor of armed forces, or are they intended to wage war against the Naga Army that is fighting for the rights of the Naga people with the Government of India?” it posed.
It deemed it as a “direct challenge to the government and an attempt to escalate tensions.”
The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) also directed that all contractors under AYO’s purview to “immediately cease and demobilise their manpower and machinery currently deployed across other districts in Nagaland.” This directive will remain in effect until a resolution is reached in the ongoing dispute, it said.
