Over corruption charges Arunachal former education officer held

Itanagar: The Special Investigation Cell (Vigilance) of Arunachal Police has arrested a former education officer in connection with the ongoing investigation into alleged illegal appointments of primary teachers and multi-tasking staff (MTS) in Anjaw district.
Case (SIC (VIG) PS C/No. 04/2023 U/S 120(B)/420/409/468/471 IPC R/W Section 13(2) PC Act, 1988) registered under various sections was Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, regarding illegal appointment of teachers and MTS officials in Anjaw district.
The arrested person has been identified as one Midak Riba.
Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) Ananth Mittal said the investigation into the case began on August 29, when searches related to an illegal appointment case in Longding district revealed similar cases in Anjaw under the district’s deputy director crimes have been committed in the Office of School Education (DDSE).
“After thorough interrogation, thorough search and technical analysis, the SIC (Vigilance) team arrested a retired government official in connection with the case.

The arrested person has been identified as Midak Ftiba, aged 60. He was then holding the post of DDSE Anju and hails from Regi village in Leparada district,” said SP Mittal.
The SP said that investigation into the alleged illegal appointments of teachers and MTS officials in Anjaw district is still going on and the SIC (Vigilance) is leaving no stone unturned to seek justice and detail all aspects of the case. The investigation is ongoing.
