Over CBI inquiry into killing of two meitei students, ITLF protested

Imphal: The women’s wing of the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) staged a massive protest against the ‘urgent’ inquiry initiated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the ‘murder’ of two Meitei students. What is it.

The women’s wing of the ITLF held its protest in Manipur’s Churachandpur town on Wednesday September 27.
ITLF women’s wing convenor Mary Jone said, “We have organized this rally against the immediate initiation of a CBI inquiry into the murder of two female students.

Jone alleged that no such inquiry was initiated into the murders and rapes of Kukis in Manipur.
There were many incidents of rape of tribal women, naked parade and killing of our men. But there was no CBI inquiry then,” she said.
It may be mentioned here that tension remains in the valleys of Manipur as protests erupted against the brutal ‘murder’ of two Meitei students by suspected Kuki militants.
