Outrage on Hindus in Bangla’sh, mass protest in Dhubri, Kokrajhar
Guwahati: A massive protest rally and protest was organized in Kokrajhar on Tuesday by the Lok Jagaran Mancha Assam, demanding justice for Hindus facing persecution in Bangladesh.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the ongoing atrocities against Hindus in the neighbouring country Bangladesh.
The rally began at the D.N. Himatsingkha Playground, where hundreds of protesters gathered before marching toward the District Commissioner’s office. Participants, carrying placards and shouting slogans, condemned the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and called for immediate action. Among the slogans raised were “Down with the Bangladesh government,” “Stop atrocities against Hindus,” and other chants denouncing the ongoing violence.
The rally created a stir across the city, drawing significant attention to the cause. The protesters also submitted a memorandum to the District Commissioner’s office, urging the Indian government to take diplomatic steps to address the issue of religious persecution in Bangladesh.
Prominent Hindu leaders, ISKON including members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), participated in the event and voiced their concerns over the safety and well-being of Hindus in Bangladesh. They emphasized the need for international pressure on Bangladesh to halt the violence and ensure the protection of minority communities.
The Lok Jagran Manch at Raja Prabhat Chandra Barua Field in Assam’s Dhubri organised a massive sit-in on December 3 morning, drawing hundreds of men and women demanding an end to communal violence and atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
