Nagaland: In an unfortunate incident, a massive rockslide occurred on July 4 near the old check gate Chumukedima in Dimapur district.
According to reports, one person died on the spot and three others were injured.
The incident took place around 5 pm in which several passenger vehicles were buried under the rocks.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the Nagaland Chief Minister wrote, “Today at around 5 PM a rock fell on the National Highway between Dimapur and Kohima resulting in severe damage resulting in 2 deaths and 3 serious injuries.
This place has always been known as “Pakala Pahar”. Known for landslides and rock falls.”
Additionally, the state government is taking all necessary steps to provide emergency services, ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the deceased and necessary medical assistance and assistance to the injured.
