GUWAHATI: Prohibited Ganja worth over Rs 2 crore has been seized from a truck and an individual has been captured here, a cop said on Friday.
He added that the recuperation was made during a pursuit procedure on Thursday night.
Ganja, gauging around 320 kg, was seized from the secret office of a truck, Guwahati Joint Magistrate of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta said.
“In light of explicit data, we caught the vehicle at Khanapara as it entered the city. It was concealed in a painstakingly developed chamber close to the driver’s lodge. We needed to cut the body of the truck to recuperate the Ganja, ” he said.
Mahanta said the medications were being obtained from Manipur and were esteemed at more than Rs 2 crore in the worldwide market.
“One individual has been captured in this association and further examination is on,” the official added.
Boss Clergyman Himanta Biswa Sarma has complimented the Guwahati Police for the fruitful activity.
“In a significant activity, @GuwahatiPol caught a truck going from adjoining state and held onto 320 kg of weed secret in its mystery chamber, which was to be conveyed to Assam. Likewise captured a charged. Extraordinary work @assampolice. Keep it up,” he composed on Twitter.
