Guwahati: The Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) Manipur unit condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “conspicuous silence” on the current tense situation in Manipur.
Addressing mediapersons at the party office in Yaiskul, AAP state coordinator Thingnam Biswanath said, “The Prime Minister’s choice to remain silent on the issue is unfortunate for the people of the Northeast.”
He said that the party considers intelligence failure to be the main reason behind the May 3 violence in the state.
Biswanath appealed to everyone to join hands to restore normalcy in the state and urged the government to ensure safe passage of goods trucks on national highways, lift ban on internet services and facilitate banking services.
