New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday congratulated the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on their Statehood Day and said that these states represent India’s rich culture and diversity.
Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram got statehood from the union territory in 1987 on this day.
“Greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on State Day. These states represent the rich culture and diversity of India. I was very impressed by the warm welcome I received in Mizoram during my recent visit. I am celebrating the State Day celebrations in Itanagar today. Looking forward to it,” the President tweeted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on their statehood anniversaries and appreciated their contribution to the country.
He tweeted, “Happy State Day to the people of Arunachal Pradesh, a state synonymous with dynamism and patriotism. The people of the state have contributed to the development of India in many fields. I pray that Arunachal Pradesh Continue to touch new heights of growth in the coming years.
Congratulating the people of Mizoram, the Prime Minister said, “Best wishes to the people of Mizoram on their Statehood Day. Mizoram is known for its natural beauty, hardworking people and wonderful Mizo culture. Wishing the people of Mizoram all the best in the coming times.” I continue to be fulfilled.
