On remarks against BJP women FIR against APCC chief Goswami

Guwahati: An FIR has been registered against Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) working president Rana Goswami at the Jorhat Sadar police station for making insulting remarks against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) women workers.

According to the BJP Mahila Morcha and the Assam state BJP unit, two separate complaints have been filed against Rana Goswami for insulting women BJP workers through derogatory remarks.
The Congress president reportedly said that women are not safe in the BJP and that they have illicit relations with men. He also claimed that a BJP MLA had accepted it without naming anyone.
The incident comes amid chaos within the Congress party over allegations of harassment by the now-suspended woman president of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress, Angkita Dutta.
