On Oct 30 PM Narendra Modi likely to visit poll-bound Mizoram

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit the election hub of Mizoram on October 30 to promote the upcoming state assembly elections. The development comes days after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi campaigned in the state.
BJP President JP Nadda, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will also join the election campaign.
According to a PTI report, Modi is likely to visit the city. As media reported earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded 23 candidates for the November state elections.
Among the BJP candidates is former Speaker of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly and MNF MLA Lalrinliana Sailo, who will contest from the Mammit constituency. Silo’s seasoned political background and leadership experience is expected to give him a tough contest in the constituency.
Union Minister Nityanand Rai and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma are also campaigning for the party in Mizoram.
The party’s election in-charge for Mizoram is in the northeastern state for election campaigning.

Currently, the ruling MNF has 28 seats, the main opposition party, the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) has six Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), the Congress has five, and the BJP has one.
