Imphal: The Coordination Committee (CORCOM), an apex body of six banned outlawed groups, has announced a 12-hour complete bandh in Manipur (Kangleipak) on October 15 from 6 am. Corcom is celebrating October 15th as National Black Day.
The Corcom Publicity Committee said in a statement that the political status of Manipur was suddenly reduced with the accession of Manipur to the Indian Union on 15 October 1949, leaving autonomous Manipur with only one Chief Commissioner province.
It states that in 2023, the Government of India used the puppet government and their henchmen to fuel communal conflict in Manipur.
Corcom also accused the Center of conspiring to incite bloodshed and internal wars between ethnic groups to turn the state into a land dominated by people living in mainland India.
Appealing to all the people of Manipur (Kangleipak) to wake up and see India’s machinations, the leading rebel groups appeal to all ethnic groups to promote peaceful co-existence and communal development and collectively wage war against India.
It added that emergency and critical services including medical, media and religious events are exempted from the purview of the complete shutdown.
Corcom is a conglomerate of six militant organizations based in the Valley – Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), its Progressive Faction (PREPAK-Pro), Revolutionary People’s Front. (RPF, the political wing of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), and the United National Liberation Front (UNLF).
