Wangjing-Lamding Apunba Meira Paibis on Tuesday seized medicinal supplies from five people, which were to be taken to Moreh, at Wangjing Keithel in Thoubal district at around 4 am.
The five persons are Md Abdul Samad, 42, son Abdul Hekim and Soneirun Nesa, 42, wife of Samad from Lilong Haotabi, Md Feroz khan, 50, son of late Abdul Manam and his wife Samila, 46 and Md Umar, 42, son of late Jeheruddin from Keibung.
Speaking to the media, one Meira Paibi Heikham Chaoba said that they were apprehended by the womenfolk who were on vigil at Wangjing Keithel while checking commuters.
They came on a Maruti swift bearing registration number MN 06LB 6670 and an Alto car bearing registration number MN 04 A 8813 from Imphal along with 15 boxes of medicinal supplies to be taken to Moreh.
She appealed to the people not to carry out such business for some profit during the clash and warned the five that their vehicle should not be seen in public for two months or it will be burned.
The arrested individuals were set free along with their vehicles after a meeting with Muslim CSOs – ANJUMAN, AMMOCOC and All Wangjing, Lamding, Kairembikhok Apunba Club Organisation, Thoubal and Kakching district Apunba Club Organisation and Meira Paibis.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, ANJUMAN secretary Mv Habibullah said that the meeting resolved not to let the Muslims carry out any unnecessary business during the clash and if anyone from the community is found carrying out unwanted business then one should take their own responsibility.
AMMOCOC member Ataur Rahaman condemned the carrying out of such business even after numerous arrests.
He also appreciated the Meitei community for looking out for them during unfortunate times. He said that the Pangal CSOs will not take any future responsibility if anyone from the community is caught carrying out such unwanted activities.
