Imphal: Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Thursday received GOC 3 Corps Lt Gen HS Sahi, Maj Gen Rajan Shrawat, IGAR (South) and Maj Gen VK Nambiar, IGAR (South) at Raj Bhavan, Imphal. East) and chaired a meeting with a team of central officers.
The team of security officials briefed the Governor about the security situation in the state, particularly the joint combing operations conducted by the security forces and the security measures taken by the Army/Assam Rifles in the insecure areas of the valley.
A release said the officers apprised the governor about several medical camps set up by the Army/Assam Rifles for the affected people in both the hill and valley districts.
The team of officers assured the Governor that the Army/Assam Rifles would assist the civil administration in restoring peace and order in Manipur.
During a meeting with the central team of officers led by Home Ministry Joint Secretary Ashish Kumar, the team briefed about the arrangements and control measures taken to provide relief to the violence-affected people in various relief camps in the districts. The price increase, the release said.
The team also informed that a helicopter service has also been started for the people living in Moreh and Churachandpur districts as announced by the Union Home Minister during his visit to the state. This service will also be launched for Kongpokpi district soon.
